Discipline Approach:
We will be implementing a conflict resolution program, in which the students will learn the skills they need to solve problems. The students will follow the attached classroom rules, which should be reinforced at home. They will talk about their feelings and most importantly, learn to respect those of others. Any possible infractions will be discussed and resolved between the partied involved. The only incidents that will require Administration and/or Parental involvement will be those which include biting, injury to another child, or frequently repeated behavior for which the above procedures have not been successful.
Behavior Plan
Traffic Light Behavior System
In our classroom, we have a stoplight hanging. On the stoplight there are clothespins with the students’ names on them. Students begin on green every day. Green= Great day. If I need to speak to a student more than twice (verbal warnings will be given) the child will move his/her clothespin to yellow. Yellow= warning/last chance to move up.If I need to speak to a student more than twice once they are on yellow (again, verbal warning will be given) the child will move his/her clothespin to red. Red= a phone call/consequence. Please sign the “Traffic Light Sheet” at the end of the week and leave in your child’s folder to be collected the following Monday.
